Hopesutton
I am tracing my Acadian family with Irish roots mixed in. My great great grandfather was John Sutton b 1832 from Richmond County Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Father, Thomas Sutton d before 1838. My hunch is that Thomas Sutton was a Loyalist and his wife Margaret Sullivan was issued land grants in Canada. Can't confirm this thus far. Lots of Sutton's in Canada, but hard to track this line down.
