MULVEY Family History
Recorded as Mulvay, Mulve, Mulvee, Mulvey, Mulvy, Mulveagh, Mulvie, and others, this is an Irish surname of antiquity. It is said to originate from the pre 10th century Gaelic O' Maoilmhiadhaigh, a real mouthful translating as "The male descendant of the follower of St. Miadhach". Miadhach was a personal name meaning honourable. Well there you are! If you cannot have a ruthless warrior as the original chief of the clan, the usuall form with both Gaelic and Celtic clan surnames, a good dollop of religious fervour is a fine substitute.Select Audience

I've used Felix because I believe connections are easier with an exceptional christian name. He may have been born in Drumgud, Kiltubridd, but certainly resided in Costrea Townland 1857(Griffiths) and passed there in 1891. I believe my GG grandfather John Mulvey was his brother. John was at Drumgud Townland 1856(Griffiths) and passed there in 1902. There maybe another brother Patrick who was at Breandrum 1857(Griffiths) and passed there in 1893. Just trying to tie them together
